5 things that made me smile this week #4 |May 20, 2017|

It’s been a month since I started giving you 5 reasons why I am smiling every week. Sometimes I find it hard to think of anything that makes me smile. Sometimes there’s nothing  really but just simple gestures from my friends and family that keeps my day going, especially on the most stressful days of my life. Believe me or not, I have those days. That is why I think you should always count those reasons why you are happy or smiling because that makes you have the reason to continue living. Those gestures can help you get through every difficulties you are experiencing in your life.

Enough with the blah blah, I will state to you the five things that made me smile the past days.

Happy pill #1

So yes, I am still sick. That is why I thought I will be bed ridden the whole week but luckily, No. I was being forced by my mom and my friends to go to the hospital and check with a Pulmonologist or Cardiologist because of some reason that most of you will not understand so I should better not tell anybody *Hides*. And so I did. I visited the hospital and check with a Pulmonology doctor and ask if I have any problem with my respiratory tract. So what made me smile? NEGATIVE! They told me there is nothing to worry about anything. The Doctor just prescribed me some medicine and that’s it.

I received another gift! It’s raining gift this month, don’t you think?

Happy pill #3

You’ll know who your real friends are when you are in crisis. Someone will always know if you are having some problems or not. Just a simple question by them asking if you’re okay or not can make the feeling a little bit lighter. Those kind of friends are worth keeping.

Happy pill #4

I don’t usually get compliments with my voice. Rarely do I hear people saying good things about it. Maybe because they got used to it already or something like that. But these week I heard a very nice compliment from a professional guitarist. Who wouldn’t feel happy hearing some good words from a professional musician?

Since I gave you six last week, can you forgive me for giving only 4 to you this time? haha I ready had a rough week so I can’t give you one more than this!

Even though keep the good vibes everyone! Things will get better eventually.

Monday thoughts #4 : I want to travel the world, but first…?

Maybe the places on these pictures looks very familiar for you, guys. Maybe you’ve been there. But I have only seen it on pictures. I haven’t been anywhere! It’s my ultimate dream to travel the whole world. These are just some of the few countries I wish to visit before I reach the age of 30. But there’s a lot more, they’re just too much to be mentioned one by one. Nobody can deny the beauty of our world. It’s too beautiful not to be seen by our naked eyes.

Somebody once told me, “Stand up and go somewhere nice and beautiful. Travel and see the world while you still can because after 20 years, you will not regret the things that you did, but the things that you did not do.” Which I thought is true.

So by then I’ve decided. I want to see the whole world with my own eyes. I want to meet different people and try to understand their culture. I want to share our own culture as well. I want to travel and be on different places before I cant do it anymore then in the future, I can look at my pictures and I can say,

Ive been there. Ive understood the people. Not by their language but by their culture. For a few days  i felt what they are feeling. It was a bit strange but those days, i somehow felt more alive.

Ive been there. I have witnessed the beauty of that place. Thank God for His wonderful creation. A creation which is made by love and must be a subject of the people’s love too. For a moment I thought I saw a glimpse of heaven, but i somehow felt more alive.”

But…..

I told you guys, I have never been anywhere!!! I’ve never even travelled my own country!

Hello hello hello Philippines! As far as you may know, Philippines are rich of beautiful places that you could visit. Nature is our big trend! But who am I to say these things wherein fact I did not yet visit any of these places. Then i thought, if I want to travel the world, I should at least travel around my country first right?

For sure I will!! And I believe I will be starting in a few months. Kung may kabayan readers diyan! Any suggestions of places sa unang gala ko sa pinas? Comment below!

Ps: I was supposed to post this last night but something came up. I hope you guys understand!

5 things that made me smile this week #3

Heyah all! (did I just typed that?)

Good day sweetpeeps~!

A lot of things had happened the past week and from being actively healthy and happy, I am here right now using inhaler and drinking medicine syrup for running rose and cough with additional ginger tea with lemon which is by the way really good for your throat. You should definitely drink it when you have sore throat and cough. But even though I am sick still there were a lot of things that happened the past week. Let me state to you 5 things that made me smile this week.

Happy pill #1

It was just some time ago when I started to go jogging at the middle of the night. Since it has been a very long time since I last went jogging I hardly finish one lap without stopping. So for the first time in forever, I just finished one lap without stopping! One lap consists of 600 m I think. That was a small number for those of you who have good stamina. But for me, that’s an achievement unlocked!

Happy pill #2

I received another gift this week! and I super loved it. I got one super comfy shirt and one case for my mobile. The case have a super nice design. It was customized. She told me that I look like that cartoon. But I told her maybe I don’t have pimples and of I have long hair.

Happy pill #3

Movie galore + food trip with my gals. During the past weeks, I’ve been enjoying going on the other room to go eat dinner with my friends. Before i just stay in my room and sleep but I have been enjoying eating dinner with them. So last wednesday, they made melon with mango shake, cooked Fishball and Kikiam  then watched movie while eating. It was so fun!

Happy pill #4

My family and friends are really concerned about my health. Isn’t that a very nice happy pill. It feels so good when you have them while you’re sick. Somebody will take care of you when you’re to lazy to do something, like going to the hospital or drink meds (which I barely do even if I have fever).

Happy pill #5

Being hooked is awesome! Not a cold nor cough can stop me from singing. I though I will perform really bad yesterday. But Thank you Lord for making me perform well! It was actually a better performance than last week. What really made me smile yesterday was the way the audience smile while I was singing. It makes me happy also when I can be able to sing their song requests. Especially when it was requested to be dedicated for someone.

So I guess for this week 5 happy pills ain’t enough so I will be adding one more!

Happy pill #6

Rowie and Rhapy’s First year Anniversary Party Part 2 Ft. Dusit Thani Hotel, Abu Dhabi. It was fun preparing for the party. Since it’s a surprise of Rowie to Rahp we helped her a lot with the things to be prepared at the hotel. It’s a Candle light dinner themed evening. We made a heart collage of their pictures and taped it on the window. They prepared the tables. The room was full of roses and candles. It was very beautiful! What’s the happy pill here? because of the love of friendship!

Monday thoughts #3 : What he meant when he said it

“I don’t want Music to be my job” I will not name him nor state my relationship with the person who said this line to me. But his line had left me too much question which I cannot answer for a very long time. I kept on asking him the reason why but he only answered me with a sly smile.

Then while I was walking on the streets going to the venue of my first ever legit paid gig, this line hit my head like an arrow crossed through my brain. I know it’s a little bit of an exaggeration, but believe me it’s something you might feel when you’re nervous or when you feel like your heart will burst out your chest. I was nervous.

I always love music and I always admire those artists that I can see perform on stage. People enjoy their music so much. These artists share their talents to everybody and inspire them. And so I was inspired. I always thought that behind those fun performances on stage, these artists also share the same smiles behind the curtains. I was jealous of that feeling and I want to feel the same way but I somehow feel differently that afternoon.

I was singing in front of a lot of people. I can see their smiles and that made me feel happy. They appreciate my voice and the way I performed. I shared my talent and that made them smile. I told myself, “That’s what exactly what you wish would happen” but at the same time the pressure entered the scene and made everything blurred. Only then did I realize what he meant when he said that phrase.

Music is a way to escape from reality. When you’re sad and you want to be alone, sometimes putting your headphones on and lock yourself inside your room can be the best solution. When your happy, playing some happy songs can add up to the mood. Others use songs to tell somebody what they really want to say that they can’t say by mere words. People make music as a tool for expressing what they really feel. Most of the songwriters write songs based on their experiences. That’s the beauty of music.

When you make music as your job, things will go a little bit different. You’re obliged to practice some songs even though you don’t want to sing it. You’ll be forced to go perform on stage even though you don’t feel like it or you’re tired. There will be deadlines for the songs you have to write if you are required to make an album. People will expect to see you smiling and happy always at the same time you want to have a good image for them. You have to inspire them. You have to entertain them. That’s part of your job and sometimes we might hate our job. That removes the fact that music can be your escape from reality.

Now I have a new question which needs an answer. How can I make music as a tool for escaping from reality where in fact it became part of my reality?

5 things that made me smile this week #2 && I have a GIG?

Another week had passed by. It was fast right? haha Yes, it is. Especially if you’re enjoying your life to the fullest. So I’m going to share to you some of my Happy pills.

Happy pill #1

18318799_1681786101836974_1970848073_o

I received two pretty bracelets from my colleague Ashkook. It’s a gold plated pair of bracelets. The one does not look complete without the other. Our phlebotomist asking me to give her the other one. But it was also a gift to me. I’m not a fan of giving what was given to me.

Happy pill #2

My mom went back from vacation! She came back from our home country, Philippines. I think everybody knows how it feels when you’re not with your mom. And I also think that everybody knows very well how lazy you can be without her around. So for one whole month, hello messy room! Me and my brother managed it very well, though.

Happy pill #3

Treats from Philippines! For a year and a half of living as an OFW, there is something I’ve noticed very well from among my kabayans. What is it? Receiving something from their families from their home land brings them too much happiness. The feeling of our families back home when they’re receiving Balikbayan Boxes from their families abroad is also the same feeling when OFWs are receiving something from them. But usually that only happens when some colleagues are going home for vacation. Because delivery expenses are usually expensive so we just let them bring the treats from our family in the Philippines as part of their luggage.

But not just that, simple treats that’s made ‘only in the Philippines’ can also bring a huge smile on our faces. Some of my colleagues bring Puto Seko, Yema, Polvoron, Mani, etc. My Mom also bring me Tuyo and Tinapa (both were salted dried fish). Really a Happy pill!

Happy pill#4

3 for 65 sale accessories from Lovisa. So my mom and I went to the mall to search for accessories to be used on my Happy pill #5 (to be stated on the latter part). We entered Lovisa and found this signage of 3 for 65 sale for some selected items. I bought three items, one for me and the other two for my mom and for my friend.

Happy pill #5

I got Hooked! Last Tuesday, I was asked to practice some songs because there will be an audition this Friday (May 5, 2017) in a newly opened restaurant called HOOKED. I was invited for an audition and on the same day I heard that they posted a poster on Facebook which got me really excited at the same time I was shocked because this photo was taken by another organization. Maybe it will cause problems or such but luckily nothing like that happened. So that day went on smoothly. We practiced 16 songs but we performed more than that. Above anything else, I was under pressure the whole time because I am working with professionals. It’s fine with me though, because I know I can learn from them. So yeah, I got Hooked. I will be singing in this restaurant every Friday. If you’re near the location you are always free to come! But of course food must be paid. Music is free though. Will be posting a review on this restaurant soon.

That’s all! Hope you enjoyed this segment as much as I did while writing it. love lots

5 things that made me smile this week

Hello sweetpeeps!

So I’ve decided that this day (Saturday) will be a day of the week wherein I will be stating 5 good things that made me smile the past week. You may ask, why saturday? Well, I don’t know also. I just felt like it haha. Saturday here in UAE is the start of another week so this may be the perfect day to internalize what had happened the past week. Agree or disagree? If you have any suggestions on which day I should post this segment then let me know by commenting below!

So let me start this week with this. I hope this will make you smile too!

Happy pill #1

Holiday off! I am working in a medical clinic so even if there’s holiday we don’t take day off. When you work on a holiday, it will be counted as an overtime but not for an overtime pay. You will be receiving 12 hours off in exchange of your overtime. But I did not took that chance to have that 4 hours excess. haha I just want to feel that two days straight without work. Just eat and sleep. It was aweeeeesome. Since I also don’t have school that day. I just slept the whole day and pig out in between.

Happy pill #2

FOOD! On my day off, me and my brother took the chance to go out and eat at RICE OVERDOSE. It’s a Philippine Restaurant in Abu Dhabi. I think it is the only restaurant here in UAE offering “Isaw“, a famous filipino street food. They also offer Bibinka Halo halo and a lot more. Probably I’ll be writing a review of this restaurant ASAP.

Happy pill #3

This might be a little “why the hell did this make her smile?” bullet. I received a free nose piercing set from Blomdahl. Check their website they offer beautiful jewelries. Cool stuff! (I will be posting a little bit more about them as soon as I already tried the nose piercing.. that is IF I will try it).

Happy pill #4

Rahwie’s First Anniversary Party part 1. Boodle Fight. It has always been a tradition of the troop to have this boodle fight food party. I think we’ve already been doing this for five times and it’s always fun. Food plus Karaoke or Playing Jenga. Who wouldn’t smile if you’re in a food party with your favorite people.

What exactly is a boodle fight. It is a military style of eating wherein the food is served on a long table. Banana leaves will be used as a plate but in our case we just used a long plastic. Bare hards are used in eating. There’s no need for spoon and fork! Rice and Viands are scattered evenly on the leaves. It’s a fun way of eating with your friends and with your family!

Happy pill #5

Special USB. Every time we are having a get together, the camera of Rowie and Rahpy is always available for use, but we’re not hoping that the photos will be uploaded as soon as possible. haha I had a hint that she will do something like this. But I didn’t know that she will do it this time so I’m in a little bit of shock and excited. Each USB contains images arranged carefully by folders. Each folder for each event that occurred. It’s a very good gift idea in celebrating friendship!

So why smile? it is because …

5 things that made me smile this week

Not that much of a makeup Ft. Flormar && Why I have acne?

MY ACNE STORY

When I was in high school, I started to have small pimples on my forehead. I don’t actually call it pimples but maybe some sort of an allergy. It’s very irritating and it doesn’t look good. As a teenager, I got curious about what I’m seeing on commercials. So by then I started to try something which made it worse then I stopped after a few days. Luckily after some time the allergy was removed.

When I reached college, pimples started to grow on my cheeks. One by one, until one day I realized that aside from dark spots that I had from my previous pimples, I started to grew more pimples which I cannot count anymore. Then I tried using different products again. I even went for facial once a month for three consecutive months and I also use the products that they prescribed me to use. Then after some time, my pimples was reduced and my dark spots was lightened. But hey, I’m just a college student coming from a “May kaya” family. I cannot continue going for facial and use all of their products. So one by one I stop using what they asked me to put.

I’m still having pimples while I was working, but not as much as before. Actually, my acne was really reduced a lot. Maybe one pimple every month. It continue being like this until I go here in UAE and started working here. Then I don’t know the cause, my pimples started to grow again more and more each day until now. So basically that’s it. The story of my acne. Until now I’m still suffering with this huge problem.

Currently, I am working wherein I am obliged to meet people face to face. And that’s not good if they will see my face with too much pimples. But since there is acne, I don’t put that much make up on my skin to not irritate it that much. But I need to find a solution on how I can reduce the marks on my skin.

FLORMAR HAUL

With a huge question mark on my face and with a lot of curiosity, I entered a make up shop called Flormar. Then a saleslady suggested me foundations, press powder, concealer and such. I promised myself I will not put on make up until I removed all my acne. I told them that, so they gave me BB Cream.

img_0772-1

Item # 1: 7+ White BB Cream

I am afraid to use this one as well. Even if it’s just a BB Cream, still it’s a type of make up meaning it still contains chemicals which might irritate my skin. But after a week of using it, I noticed no changes with my skin which is a good sign because usually if I’m using new products, I breakout after a day or two.

As the name itself says, it is a 7 in one product. It has a SPF 30 UV Protection, it also hydrates, smoothens, and luminate the skin, it corrects the skin color and also, it conceals those dark spots. Which is exactly what I need. I’ve been using this for half a year now and I can say it’s my favorite.

It’s lightweight and it easily blends well with my skin. It also gives you that matte finish thought it may be a little creamy at first. You must blend it well throughout your skin. It has SPF 30 also which is definitely what I need for my dark spots!

What I don’t like about it is the smell. It doesn’t have that pleasant smell that usually comes with creams. But it’s tolerable. Also, there are only three shades of the product so there are only few choices to choose from to which will suit your skin.

snapseed-1

Item #2: Flormar Watermelon Balm

I always have choppy lips so never will I forget to use lip balm on my lips. Not for color but for Sun Protection and to remove the choppiness of my lips. I avoid using dark colored lipstick because again, my acne. I feel that my pimple’s redness becomes more lucid because of the color of my lips. I usually only use Nivea Lip Balm for my lips but there’s nothing wrong with using something new. Then they gave me this lip balm. I love it! It’s doesn’t leave that greasy feeling on the lips. Plus, it is tinted but not that lucid so it’s fine.

I’m not that sure how many shades they have. But at the store where I came has only three shades, or might as well I say flavor, to offer. The one that I have is watermelon which has a pinkish red color. There is also one dark shade which is the black mulberry. and the light one the apple balm. You can really smell the flavor.

img_0773-1

Item # 3: Flormar x10 Lengthening Sculpting Mascara

Not the best that I’ve used so far. But the plus point with this item is that the ingredients consists of Olive Oil which is good for your lashes. It leaves you that voluminous and longer lashes which is what i’m searching for when it comes to mascara. Two thumbs up for this item but still im consistent with the fact that it’s not the best mascara that i’ve tried.

I spent a total of 110 AED all in all. Not bad for these three products! 😍 I will rate all in a total of 8.5/10
