The “Miracle” oil? Bacteria Free from Head to Toe!

Last week, I wrote a review regarding the Tea Tree line of products from The Body Shop. I got really curious of what else Tea Tree can benefit our body. I’ve read a lot of articles and I got really excited of the results of my research! But first, let me tell you …

WHAT IS TEA TREE OIL?

Tea tree oil has become very popular worldwide. It became a very famous ingredient to those beauty products that you can see at the stores near you. Not only among the beauty products but also it became an ingredient to other household cleaning products since it has antiseptic properties.

Don’t get it wrong. Tea Tree is different from those tea plant extracts (Camellia Sinensis) which are shrubs or small trees whose leaves and leaf buds are used to produce tea. Tea Tree or is also known as Melalenca alternifolia. As my research states, this plant was originally discovered along streams and swampy areas in the native land of Australia. After a few decades, after a lot of researches and medical studies, it has been stated that Tea Tree has a lot good heath benefits.

I will state to you it’s benefits for the body/health. Excited? I AM!

  1. PERFECT CURE FOR ACNE

If you are searching for some home remedies that you can use to cure acne, then you can try Tea Tree oil! Some medical studies and researches states that 5% Tea Tree oil gel has the same effect as the famous Benzoyl Peroxide that are being used in curing acne except that it doesn’t irritate your face that much unlike the side effects of Benzoyl Peroxide. Much better right?

You can also use it as a facial wash by just mixing a few drops of Tea tree essential oil with honey. Simply rub it on your face then rinse off. There are actually more ways to use it on your face. You can check a lot tutorials online to do perfect homemade remedies that you can try on.

Aside from those, you can already buy it ready made in the market like the products from The Body Shop which I previously made review on.

2. WHY NOT PUT SOME ON YOUR HAIR?

Studies shows that some shampoos or other products that we are using on our hair has been proven to have some harmful chemicals that can damage our hair or worse, can cause hair loss. Who would want that? Tea Tree can be a best non-damaging miracle alternative for your hair.

Since it has that antiseptic property, it can be used for removing those fungus or any kind of bacteria that may cause itchy and flaky scalp which, as we may all know, very irritating and may also cause hair loss. Say goodbye to hair lice, too!

3. GIVE SOME MORE CARE FOR YOUR NAILS

Girls just love their nails so much that sometimes they will make them long even though it will be hard for them to do some things like to use the keyboard, etc. I myself likes making my nails long too but sometimes it’s just not strong enough or it doesn’t look good because of those flaky skin edges so in the end, I will just cut it short.  Another use for our miracle oil which is also rich in softening contents. It can be a fighting agent for those cracked corners and can make your nails stronger too!

4. TREAT YOUR WOUNDS AND OTHER SKIN PROBLEMS WELL

Since the miracle Tea Tree Oil has antiseptic properties, then it is of good use in curing wounds. Minor cuts and abrasions can benefit from the antimicrobial action of tea tree oil, which cleanses the area and wards off infection. Aside from those simple wounds, Tea Tree can also treats other skin infections like Psoriasis. Psoriasis is characterized by “plaques”, or areas of red, scaly sometimes inflamed skin. These areas develop when skin production is faster than the body’s ability to shed it. There is no cure for psoriasis, but there are things you can do to ease the discomfort and possibly speed the healing of the effective area and one of this is using Tea Tree Oil.

5. SAY NO TO BAD BREATH AND SORE THROAT

Among all the articles that I’ve read, I always find this one and I think this benefit is very useful. Tea tree oil has the ability to kill off bad bacteria it can be a perfect ingredient in homemade toothpaste and mouthwash. It’s been shown to reduce the bleeding of gums and tooth decay.

Aside from that, it can also help cure sore throat. Tea tree oil can help with some inflammation of the mucous membranes, which contributes to the sore throat, but most importantly it can help fight off an infection. You can just use it as a gargle, just put one drop with water.

6. DIY DEODORANT

Bad bacteria causes body odor. We have those kinds of bacteria on our underarms and genitals which causes bad smell especially on our puberty stage. That is why we are using deodorants to avoid those bad smells. But some deodorants contains chemicals which are harmful on the skin. They causes dark underarms or sometimes makes it itchy. So sometimes it is better to use natural products.

7. Tea Tree Oil for Toenail Fungus and Ringworm
Since it has the ability to kill parasites and bacteria (a statement which I already told you guys for a lot of times already in this posts), it is also can be used to kill toenail fungus, athlete’s foot and ringworm.

There are a lot more of benefits that a tea tree oil can give you. It is very useful! Try searching online of some ingredients that you can mix with tea tree oil for better benefits and results!

That’s it for today. I hope this post will be very useful for you guys!

5 things that made me smile this week #4 |May 20, 2017|

It’s been a month since I started giving you 5 reasons why I am smiling every week. Sometimes I find it hard to think of anything that makes me smile. Sometimes there’s nothing  really but just simple gestures from my friends and family that keeps my day going, especially on the most stressful days of my life. Believe me or not, I have those days. That is why I think you should always count those reasons why you are happy or smiling because that makes you have the reason to continue living. Those gestures can help you get through every difficulties you are experiencing in your life.

Enough with the blah blah, I will state to you the five things that made me smile the past days.

Happy pill #1

So yes, I am still sick. That is why I thought I will be bed ridden the whole week but luckily, No. I was being forced by my mom and my friends to go to the hospital and check with a Pulmonologist or Cardiologist because of some reason that most of you will not understand so I should better not tell anybody *Hides*. And so I did. I visited the hospital and check with a Pulmonology doctor and ask if I have any problem with my respiratory tract. So what made me smile? NEGATIVE! They told me there is nothing to worry about anything. The Doctor just prescribed me some medicine and that’s it.

Happy pill #2

img_1198

I received another gift! It’s raining gift this month, don’t you think?

Happy pill #3

You’ll know who your real friends are when you are in crisis. Someone will always know if you are having some problems or not. Just a simple question by them asking if you’re okay or not can make the feeling a little bit lighter. Those kind of friends are worth keeping.

Happy pill #4

I don’t usually get compliments with my voice. Rarely do I hear people saying good things about it. Maybe because they got used to it already or something like that. But these week I heard a very nice compliment from a professional guitarist. Who wouldn’t feel happy hearing some good words from a professional musician?

Since I gave you six last week, can you forgive me for giving only 4 to you this time? haha I ready had a rough week so I can’t give you one more than this!

Even though keep the good vibes everyone! Things will get better eventually.

Monday thoughts #4 : I want to travel the world, but first…?

Maybe the places on these pictures looks very familiar for you, guys. Maybe you’ve been there. But I have only seen it on pictures. I haven’t been anywhere! It’s my ultimate dream to travel the whole world. These are just some of the few countries I wish to visit before I reach the age of 30. But there’s a lot more, they’re just too much to be mentioned one by one. Nobody can deny the beauty of our world. It’s too beautiful not to be seen by our naked eyes.

Somebody once told me, “Stand up and go somewhere nice and beautiful. Travel and see the world while you still can because after 20 years, you will not regret the things that you did, but the things that you did not do.” Which I thought is true.

So by then I’ve decided. I want to see the whole world with my own eyes. I want to meet different people and try to understand their culture. I want to share our own culture as well. I want to travel and be on different places before I cant do it anymore then in the future, I can look at my pictures and I can say,

Ive been there. Ive understood the people. Not by their language but by their culture. For a few days  i felt what they are feeling. It was a bit strange but those days, i somehow felt more alive.

Ive been there. I have witnessed the beauty of that place. Thank God for His wonderful creation. A creation which is made by love and must be a subject of the people’s love too. For a moment I thought I saw a glimpse of heaven, but i somehow felt more alive.”

But…..

I told you guys, I have never been anywhere!!! I’ve never even travelled my own country!

Hello hello hello Philippines! As far as you may know, Philippines are rich of beautiful places that you could visit. Nature is our big trend! But who am I to say these things wherein fact I did not yet visit any of these places. Then i thought, if I want to travel the world, I should at least travel around my country first right?

For sure I will!! And I believe I will be starting in a few months. Kung may kabayan readers diyan! Any suggestions of places sa unang gala ko sa pinas? Comment below!

Ps: I was supposed to post this last night but something came up. I hope you guys understand!

Food Wed: Rice Overdose Food and Restaurant Review

Honestly speaking, I did not feel the pressure of being an OFW even on my first days here in UAE. Aside from I already have my family here, it is also because there are a lot of Kabayans everywhere. Literally, EVERYWHERE. Every corner of the city you can find them, it’s impossible if not. That means, you can also find a lot of Filipino restaurants here hiding at the corners of Abu dhabi. Luckily, we found a fantastic one!

Rice_Overdose.jpg

RICE OVERDOSE — The Higher the Dosage the Better! I’ve always been a fan of unli-rice (Unlimited Rice) restaurants, even since when I was in the Philippines. In a country wherein most of the people will not live without eating rice, restaurants offering this kind of services is on top hit. So hands up to the owner of Rice Overdose for bringing this concept here in UAE!

I’ve been in Rice Overdose for a couple of times already and it’s always jam-packed especially at night. You can barely find a seat for you and your companions. But it’s fine because the staff will accommodate you well.

STAFF

There is always somebody who will greet you as soon as you enter the restaurant. Even though during the rush hour, somebody will accommodate you properly. What admires me well with the staff is that they barely use pen and paper while taking orders, not even using tablet or anything. They will just ask for your order and then what you need to do next is to wait for your order. But of course they still need to write it down after to give to the kitchen crew.

MENU

The menu was arranged nicely with pictures every dish. It’s good for those who are lazy enough to read what’s on the menu. Believe me or not, there are some people who are like that (me). I also think that their menu looks appetizing. It will make you order more just by looking at it. *confetti*

PLACE

I wasn’t able to take pictures of the whole place because really, it’s too crowded all of the time. I only took these two pictures when I came one morning, but I did not thought about taking a picture of the place as well. Sorry for that. But as you can see, the wall were painted with a nice shade of green. One side of the wall have a very nice design of bricks.

This photo on my IG shows the bricks i was telling you. (photo was taken  Valentines day 2017)
FOOD

And for the most exciting part of this review, the Food. Unfortunately, some disaster happened to my mobile which causes all of my files including photos and videos deleted. ALL. The only picture I was able to keep was this photo from my instagram again.

18318670_1679751205373797_1274732241_o

As you can notice there were two different colors of the rice. What I like the most about Rice Overdose, aside from the until rice concept, is also the three types of rice that they offer for their kabayan customers. Namely, Adobo Rice, Steak Rice and last but not the least, Bagoong Rice. Just thinking about it makes me drool ** sorry.  As I was saying, they are offering three types of rice. These three names mentioned are names of famous Filipino Viands. But since I am alleric to Bagoong, I’ve only tasted the other two and my favorite one is the Steak Rice. I find the adobo rice a little too oily. Of course, they are also serving plain rice.

Rice overdose have different variety of foods that you can choose from. They offer beef, chicken, fish, seafoods, sushi, pancit, and other snacks that you can only find in the philippines. Namely,  Puto bumbong, Bibingkinitan, Bibinka etc.  Last but not the list, is what I think the OFWs miss the most! ISAW. Maybe not the most… haha but for me, it is. Yes, that’s right! They are offering the famous Filipino Street food, Isaw and also, Chicken feet and Gizzard. I know for some of you it may sound weird, but don’t jude it unless you’ve tasted it already. Believe me or not it tastes super yummy. Just make sure they’re cleaning it well though. Okay enough of that!

All in all, I can say that this restaurant can be rated at a very score of 4.2. Not because I came from the Philippines, but because I really love it’s warm place and very accomodating staff. Food is good too!

Go and Try! I dare you to taste Isaw though. *Wink*

Monthly Favorites: April 2017

Hello sweetpeeps!

So it’s the second day of May, but I think it’s not too late to post my April Favorites! I’m very excited to publish this because this will be the first post of my “Monthly Favorites” series, but I wasn’t able to make time yesterday. Let me apologize for that.

In this series I will be showing you some sneak peak of my favorite products the preceding month. To be proper, I must be posting reviews on the products beforehand. But as of now, I haven’t made any reviews on all the products that I will be posting except for one. Lemme start

MY APRIL FAVORITES!

FAV No.1: L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Silk & Gloss Curling Mousse

img_0921-1.jpg

I have a natural curly hair. So I really need something that holds those curls together to avoid looking like a witch, but on the other hand will not make my hair greasy or oily. Then I found this amazing product from Loreal. Having curly hair is nice, looks nice. However, it’s the most difficult to manage, tame, style and take care of. Good thing I found this product.

FAV No. 2: L’Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair

img_0920-1

Another favorite from my hair care routine! When I get bored, I usually cut my hair short. And that’s what happened 6 months ago. I got bored then cut my curly hair. I colored my hair 3 times after that, then that’s it.. HELLO DRY HAIR! So I really need something just like this…. ohhh ohhh ohhh I want something just like this (*Coldplay* if you know it) Oks sorry. One word. Intoxicating. Using it once, makes me wants to use it more everyday. Super love it.

FAV No. 3: Yoko Eye Gel

img_0922-1

As a student, I lack sleep. But sometimes its just either I am playing or watching Korean Dramas. Whatever the reason is, the problem is that I am having a lot of trouble with my dark under eyes. And so, I buy this Eye Gel. I love the product because it is so soothing and also reducing the puffiness around the eye area. I love using it before sleeping.

FAV No. 4: Flormar Watermelon Lip Balm

img_0924-1

OHHHhhhhhh my favorite lip balm! I already made a review of this one. If you want to read it just click here. I think I will be using it for a long time, and probably will buy a new one or maybe I will try another flavor?

FAV No. 4: The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Cleansing Daily Solution

img_0923-1

If you will make me choose which one if my most favorite among all of these products, probably I will be choosing this one. It’s a product from The Body Shop. It is a daily solution that you should put after toning your face. It is specifically made for blemished skin which suits my skin type well. I super love it. I love everything about it. Maybe even if my skin isn’t blemished I will still be using this one.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed reading this. I’ll try making review on all of these mentioned product this week.

Monday thoughts No. 1: Who she wants to be after 5 years?

As soon as we reached the age where the word “Teen” is not present anymore, we tend to question ourselves who we want to be after 5 years, after 10 years, or so. When I was 20 and soon to graduate college, I started to think of who I really want to be in the future. Honestly, I have a lot of dreams. I want to accomplish too much things that sometimes it’s too frustrating not knowing how I should start.

First, I want to become a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). Entering college was a bit hard for me. Same as what I am currently experiencing right now, I was unsure of a lot of things. What course should I take? Which school should I go to? Should I choose what I want or what I need? These were some sample questions that I asked myself before. I ended up choosing the course that I needed and the school that was right for me. Both was actually what my parents wants. I believe in their decision so I think it’s fine. I was planning to choose Multimedia arts or Conservatory of music. I’d rather choose arts and music if you’d ask me. But I chose what my parents thought was better for me. I started to like my course anyway. I think it’s fun and challenging. What I hate about it is that I need to focus on it and honestly speaking, I lack focus.

I want to be a singer/ musician. It has always been my dream ever since I was a kid. I love singing so much that even when I was in college I used to record songs and post it online hoping somebody would see it. Then I started to make it just my past time. If i’m not doing anything I would be holding a guitar and sing inside my room. To be honest I still record covers of songs and post it online. You can click here if you want to check my channel. Anyway, I always admire those performers that I’ve been watching online. Every time they perform on stage I’m wondering how happy could they be to do the thing that they love the most. I wish I could do the same thing.

The next one is to be a blogger. I already stated the reasons why I want to be one. If you haven’t read my post you can click here

As soon as I earned enough money, I will start my own business. I don’t want to live as an employee forever. Having to make this business successful means that everything will come in place afterwards. My parents can have the time of their life. We can visit different places and just enjoy without any worries. That would be fun right?

Big dreams, but achievable.

Monday thoughts No. 1: Who she wants to be after 5 years?

Mama Fu’s Asian House

It has been a very long time since I’ve eaten something Asian aside from Filipino dishes that was being cooked at home. That is why I’m really excited to eat at Mama Fu’s. They offer Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese dishes all in one place. Who wouldn’t crave for it? Think about the flavors. Literally mouth  watering.

PLACE

I wasn’t able to take picture of the place because there were so many local customers which were enjoying their food.

download

The ceiling and the floor are both dimmed colors which complements well with the colors of the walls and the chairs which are green and orange. There were paintings hanging neatly on the wall.

FOOD

The menu was properly organized. The amount of the dishes varies on what kind of meat was ordered whether you ordered it together with rice or noodles.

  • Veggies – 35 AED
  • Chicken – 45 AED
  • Beef – 50 AED
  • Shrimp – 50 AED

img_0232-1

  1. Fresh basil spring roll (Appetizer)

Spring rolls are really famous in an Asian menu. According to one article that I read, famous chefs in Asia classified Vietnamese Spring rolls as the best among other countries offering it like China, Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia.

As the name states this spring roll was not fried. Fresh basil, mint, beans sprouts, and vegetables mixed all together with cold rice then wrapped with cellophane noodles. I think it also has peanuts inside which makes the taste a little different from what I am usually eating in the Philippines. I don’t like peanuts that much though. The dip also has peanuts which makes it a little buttery so instead of dipping mine with it, I dipped it with chili dip.

The appetizer was served immediately after we ordered. It took only 5 minutes for it to arrive served with the drinks too.

2. Lemon Sriracha Stir Fry Chicken

Asian tummies wouldn’t be full without any rice. There’s no doubt to that. This next was the best among the dishes that we’ve ordered. It it chicken stirred with Lemon sriracha sauce** mixed with vegetables.

**Fast fact! Sriracha Sauce was originated in Thailand. It is a type of hot sauce or chili sauce made from a paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt.

I think the vegetables were half cooked. The broccoli, and the carrots were crunchy. You can tell that the peas was half cooked. It taste a little sweet. Healthy living at its finest.

3. Thai Cashew stir fry Chicken (or Beef)

It has the same ingredients as the Lemon Sriracha Stir fry Chicken but this one was served with toasted cashews. Also, instead of using Lemon Sriracha sauce, they put garlic soy sauce. The cashew complements well with the salty sauce. Not that good though, but it’s nice.

4. Sichuan Kung Pao Beef

HOT AND SPICY! This dish has celery, bell peppers, onions, chili peppers, peanuts and chestnuts tossed with a really spicy Kung pao** sauce.

**fast fact “Kung Pao Chicken (Chinese: 宫保鸡丁), also transcribed as Gong Bao or Kung Po, is a spicy stir-fry dish made with chicken, peanuts, vegetables, and chili peppers. The classic dish in Sichuan cuisine originated in the Sichuan Province of south-western China and includes Sichuan peppercorns. Although the dish is found throughout China, there are regional variations that are typically less spicy than the Sichuan serving. Kung Pao chicken is also a staple of westernized Chinese cuisine.” — wikipedia

The beef was tender when the dish was freshly served and also it’s easy to bite but as soon as it became colder it also became harder to chew. All I can say is that I love this (because I love spicy dish). Really tasty and too much serving enough for two rice. haha

RATING!

Place & ambiance – 3.5/5

Staff – 3/5 (I’ve only seen the waitress smile a few times on our stay at the restaurant. Nobody asks us if we need anything or no unlike other restaurants that I’ve visited before. Also there was one time when we asked for a refill of our drink but they just took the glass and took a lifetime to bring the refilled glass.)

Food – 3/5 (I love it. I’m asian. haha)

xxx~
